Learning Support Assistant

Part-Time – Possible leading into full time for the right candidate

Primary area of study – Construction (Term Time Only)

Salary: Circa £16,000 pro rata

Based: Bedfordshire – Dunstable

Develop is a not for profit organisation.  We deliver a variety of projects working with all ages ranging from organising work experience for school age children to employability skills for unemployed adults. We also manage a number of other training providers in Study Programme delivery to 16-18 year olds.  Develop is a training organisation that prides itself on helping our students reach their potential and progress on completion of our courses into a positive destination of their choice.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant who would welcome the opportunity to work at our Dunstable centre in, supporting our 16-18 year old learners with a particular focus on construction. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the classroom tutor
  • Working with small groups and 1:1 support
  • Supporting literacy and numeracy
  • Help manage pupil behaviour
  • Help pupils to access the curriculum
  • Support the co-ordination of work experience for students
  • Be able to use a PC effectively and have good knowledge with using Microsoft e.g. word

Applicants that are qualified or have previous experience in a school or education setting would be preferred however, we are willing to support the right candidate. Some experience or a qualification in careers guidance would also be advantageous. Due to the nature of the position you must be able to use a PC effectively with the ability to use Microsoft Office for example, Word, PowerPoint.

Learning Support Assistant Job Description

Develop is committed to safeguarding all our learners and staff. Applicants shall be subject to an enhanced DBS check.


Quality Support Consultant (£150 per day)

We are expanding our provision and seeking additional support on a per day basis to carry out independent monitoring visits on our provision, primarily on Study Programme, including high needs provision.

The activities we would require would include:

  • Observations of teaching, learning and assessment
  • Quality audits of documentation
  • Learner interviews
  • Support for individual Tutors

A teaching qualification, and or A and V units an advantage.

Salary:  Circa £23 – 25,000  pro rata – dependent upon qualifications and experience

Based: Hertfordshire

We are proud to have expanded into Hertfordshire for Study Programme Delivery and are looking to recruit IT Tutor’s to assist in developing then delivering a bespoke course based around their own expertise, covering the following areas:

  • Hardware
  • Software
  • Creative IT

Applicants that are qualified or have previous experience in a school or education setting would be preferred however, we are willing to support the right candidate.

We can be flexible and will consider both full and part time applications for this position.
