As part of our inclusion programme Develop also run programmes for Adult Learners (19+)
These programmes focus on employability skills and raising aspiration and motivation of the learners involved.
Run throughout Hertfordshire and supports those learners who are on Universal Credit and need help to focus their career options and job searching skills. It is run over 3 days and the learners identify their job/career aspirations and are then supported to plan how they can achieve this. As part of the course they are also given one-to-one IAG with a qualified adviser. for more information see Improving Opportunities.
Develop were approached to see if they could support the delivery of the MK Jobs Fair. This was based on a recommendation by Jobcentre Plus on the Develops ability and expertise in providing tailored Careers, Information and Guidance. To find out more see the Milton Keynes job show page.
Working in Custody
The Careers Inspiration in Custody programme is offered in three prisons. Those inmates who are close to release are, presented a range of Local Market Information (LMI) resources and engage in a number of employer-led activities taken from the National Careers Service Custody Menu of Employability Activities which includes CV workshops and interview practice, to support their search for meaningful employment upon release. The Ex-Offender Alumni programme is currently delivered in 22 prisons. Its success has seen the number of prisons involved grow from 16 in the last 12 months.
