Many trades work on construction sites – but how do you discover which one would be right for you? This course gives you practical experience of various skills needed by the construction industry, to help you decide what interests you most.
By working on specific projects to develop a range of basic construction skills, you will gain both the experience and confidence to choose which trade would be most suitable for you.
This course provides exactly what is needed. Initially, in our training centre, you will try/learn the basic skills involved in: painting and decorating, tiling, carpentry and ground work. You’ll also experience work on real projects and learn about the essential health and safety procedures that keep construction workers safe.
If still at school you need to be aged between 14-16 years. To enter a Study Programme after leaving school, you must be aged between 16-18. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but you will have an informal interview. Course start dates are flexible.
Level One City & Guilds in Construction Multi Skills
To achieve the qualification, you will be assessed whilst actually working in a simulated workplace in our training centre. You will also create a portfolio of evidence through observation and assignments during the course.

What can I do next? Construction, Electrical or Plumbing Intermediate Level 2 Apprenticeship, Level 2 Vocational course.
Following Level 2 qualifications a job is possible as a; Joiner, Painter and Decorator, Ground Worker, Landscape, Laborer and Trade Stores serving the building industry.
