Develop are working with Reactiv8 to deliver the Careers Enterprise Company funded Mentoring Programme in a limited number of schools across Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes. This programme extends our already successful mentoring delivery in a number of schools across the region.
The impact of the programme is increased by the implementation of group sessions across a 12 week period to build the students confidence, motivation and understanding. These group sessions also enable a better matching of the mentors and mentees through the feedback we receive and the exercises we do with the students.
Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes
12 group sessions delivered in each school for mentees to attend. The sessions involve interactive activities to help build engagement, confidence and motivation.
All mentees will undertake a social impact measurement questionnaire at start of programme and at the end of the 12 group sessions to determine their effectiveness and any support needs. The participants will also take part in a group activity away from their school.
Mentors will meet their mentees after the completion of the group session to start the 1:1 mentoring.
The students will have 7 mentoring session. Feedback is collected after each session to determine the impact of the sessions and highlight any perceived barriers or issues.
The length of the mentoring programme and responsibilities of each party is defined at the start of the process to ensure the journey of development through to closure is managed effectively.
A limited number of extended work experience placements will be available. Suitability will be determined on an individual basis.
