Develop student nominated as a MK Dons SET Hope Ambassador for the Damilola Taylor Year of Hope Campaign.

Alfie, a Develop Bedford learner, has a passion to be a famous footballer.  When not at the Centre, he plays as a goal keeper with MK Dons SET.  Alfie joined them about six years ago and feels he has benefitted from the sessions, improving both his football and his interpersonal skills.  He feels his confidence, leadership and team-building skills have all improved and he enjoys the opportunity to ‘encourage others’.  Of course, training at MK Dons stadium and participating in tournaments and ‘The People’s FA cup’ are fantastic opportunities themselves.

In recognition of his talents, Alfie is one of two players that have been nominated by MK Dons SET to be Hope Ambassadors for the Damilola Taylor Year of Hope Campaign.  The campaign was set up by Damilola’s father 20 years after Damilola’s tragic death as a way to tackle youth violence.

You can catch Alfie on Twitter in his ambassadorial role encouraging others to ‘never give up’ here.
